Travel Bucket List

I have mentioned this before in a previous post, but my ultimate goal in life is to travel the word, experiencing as much of it as I possibly can. So, I have began to put together a list of the places that I most wish to visit.

Iceland

iceland

I think that Iceland is such a beautiful country, and I would absolutely love to go there and be able to see the amazing natural wonders, such as the Northern lights, Geysir, and Gullfoss waterfall in person. Not to mention how amazing it would be to sit and relax in the hot springs whilst the air around you is icy cold. I so so hope to visit this amazing country soon!

Bruges

Honestly, I think that Bruges looks like somewhere straight out of a fairytale. The beautiful dainty buildings and canals make for a location perfect for Far Far Away kingdoms. From photos that I have seen, it looks reminiscent of Amsterdam, which is a place that I loved so much and so I think that Bruges would be right up my canal-lined street.

Alaska

I can’t deny that reading/watching Into the Wild has somewhat influenced my desire to visit Alaska. I just think that it is so picturesque and would be the perfect place to go to escape the constraints of society. I won’t lie, I like the luxuries of modern life, but sometimes you need to go somewhere to step back and clear your head, and I feel like a trip to Alaska would be the perfect way to do so.

Yosemite

yosemite

Arguably one of the most beautiful national parks, Yosemite is very high up on my travel bucket list. I have heard that photos don’t do Yosemite justice, which just shows how beautiful of a place it must really be, since the photos alone look incredible.

New Zealand

new-zealand

I feel like New Zealand is one of those places that has everything. There are the cities with all the modernisms and features of typical city life, but there are also beautiful scenic places that take you out of the chaos and into the serenity of nature. (Not to mention i would love to visit Hobbitton!)

Australia

Australia, particularly Sydney is another place that I would love to visit. I think that it is a commonly popular place to want to travel to and I can definitely see why. The only thing that puts me off is the unnaturally huge spiders. Nope.

South Africa

south-africa

In particular, Cape Town, I think that South Africa would be an amazing place to visit. There is so much wildlife there and so many opportunities to see the animals in their natural habitat, from safari rides to river journeys, I think it would be an incredible experience. Then there are the gorgeous beaches and blue waters to relax on which I certainly wouldn’t say no to!

India

Another beautiful country, India hosts amazing cultural differences to the UK and is definitely different to what I am used to. However, I think that it is extremely important to learn about other cultures and what better way to do that than to go and experience it yourself.

Tokyo

As with India, I think Japanese culture is so different and I am so interested in learning how other people live. Tokyo looks like a stunning city and I would love to visit the traditional Japanese temples as well as the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

This list is definitely inconclusive and there are so many more places in the world that I want to visit, however, for now, these are definitely at the top of the list. Hopefully now that I am on my gap year, I will be able to tick a few of these off the list in the near future!
