New York day 3

We awoke bright and early, ready to head off for a film and television bus tour of the city. The tour consisted of driving around the city and visiting the sites of locations that can be seen in famous films and television shows. I loved this tour, seeing that I have a particular interest in film, and I found it amazing just how many locations that you could walk by everyday and recognise them from films and TV shows that you have seen.

We saw loads of places on the tour, which lasted approximately two and a half hours. We were able to get off the bus three times to explore the area a bit more and get a closer look at the more famous filming locations. These included the firehouse from ‘Ghostbusters’ and Monica and Rachel’s apartment from ‘Friends’ (!!!!!!)

Other locations we saw on the tour included the building used for the Oscorp tower in ‘The Amazing Spiderman’, GNB from ‘How I met your mother’, the Trump tower that was used in filming ‘Tower Heist’, several locations from ‘When Harry met Sally’, the house in which Will Smith lived in ‘I am Legend’, and we began the tour at Ellen’s Stardust Diner which is featured in the film ‘New Year’s Eve’, amongst many many more.

After the tour, we got off the movie tour bus and onto another which took us down to the pier. This bus toured around New York, and the guide pointed out sites of the city. Once at the pier, we walked around the area for a couple of hours, looking around the little shops and market stalls on the harbourside.

That night we headed back to Times Square for something to eat at Planet Hollywood for our last night in New York and looked in a few of the shops at Times Square (the Disney Store). Then it was bed time, and time for our last nights sleep in NYC.
